KK Budućnost
Basketball Club “Budućnost” was founded in 1952 in Titograd (today’s Podgorica). It was only in 1980 when Budućnost succeeded to get to the company of the best, and in the following eight years they were permanent members of the elite First Federal League. In 1988 they fell out of the League, but in 1990 they got back to the first League.
The most significant results achieved in the team history were accomplished in the seasons of 1995/96 and 1997/98 when the team won Serbia and Montenegro Cup and by winning the triple title of Yugoslav Championship in the seasons of 1998/99, 1999/2000 and 2000/2001.
A school for all ages and categories has been organized within the club.
The legend among the players of the Basketball Club “ Buducnost” is unambiguously Duško Ivanović, the best team shooter ever. The most famous European name along with Duško Ivanović and Luka Pavićević is Žarko Paspalj, and the record regarding the number of games played for Budućnost is kept by Goran Bojanić who spent his career playing only for Budućnost.
